ANURAAG BHATNAGAR WINS THE COVETED STAR DIAMOND AWARD FOR BEST GENERAL MANAGER BY THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF HOSPITALITY SCIENCES !!!




The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences is renowned worldwide for awarding excellence in the global travel and luxury services sector. Each year the academy bestows its coveted International Star Diamond Award exclusively on Five Star establishments.
This award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement and true quality in the hospitality industry worldwide. The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences is the only organization that awards excellence in the luxury travel services sector worldwide, and the Academy’s International Star Diamond Award is the only award program that recognizes excellence on a global level.
Valuable sources from around the globe routinely submit nominations of Five Star establishments to the academy for review. The board then refines the selection to those who qualify for the ultimate evaluation.
All recipients are deemed to be of pinnacle quality and global recognition.
This year Anuraag Bhatnagar has whisked the 5 STAR DIAMOND AWARD for not only Le Royal Meridien, Mumbai but also as General Manager. The panel of judges includes hospitality industry stalwarts such as Donald Trump and Joseph Cinq. The award is given after a end user mystery audit of the services.
He has been with Le Meridien for 9 years initially as Director F&B, Le Royal Meridien, Mumbai after which he moved to open Le Meridien, Jaipur as General Manager. He has returned to Le Royal Meridien, Mumbai in the capacity of General Manager last year and has won many laurels. He was instrumental for Le Meridien, Jaipur winning the “Best Resort Hotel” in Asia Pacific at WTM London by Pacific Association of Travel Writers (PATWA) in the year 2004-2005. He was acknowledged and recognized as the ‘Young Achiever to make a significant contribution in hospitality’, by Dainik Bhaskar Group, on 26th January 2008. In 2007, Le Meridien, Jaipur was awarded the ‘Best Star Voice’ in Asia Pacific. In 2006 he received the ‘Young Achiever in the Hospitality Industry’ in ITB Berlin. With his outstanding role in Associate engagement, he also won the ‘Best in Class General Manager’ by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
He was nominated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts as India and Asia Pacific representative on Global General Manager’s Advisory Board. His role will include facilitating Le Meridien Brand Initiatives in the region and also rolling out signature services and programmers’ in Mumbai.
He is also the proud leader of the best wired sales in Indian subcontinent region of Starwood Hotels.
His winning streak would come from the fact that he prefers analyzing success than failure inorder to replicate it and continue. As he puts it “Everybody analyses failure but very few know what have they done right so as to repeat it and excel in doing so in their business.”
